“Collage Drawings” blend existential and political themes, exploring the artist’s desire to attain an inner balance in an increasingly pressurised world. “Collage drawings” is a collage of photographs of the artist’s “Stainless Steel Seeds” sculptures merged with drawings and newspaper cuttings. The works in the series feature issues like terrorism, migration or inequality, highlighting a pursuit of balance in a situation where precarity underpins human existence in material and immaterial ways. Today, Lemos sees these pieces as the foreshadowing of what the humanity would continue to experience, as they have gained an additional meaning with the global health crisis. These works invite the visitors to contemplate life, its dualities and pressures in the quest for a conscious existence.
